How to Nail an Intro

“Believe”

(Draylin Young)

If you’re going to play the intro of a song at church

Your team (singers + musicians) need to be able to recognize what you’re playing

If there are special punches and runs

Spend time during the week nailing them

So that your church can enter into worship seemlessly

  1. Spend a day focused on practicing the intro of a song.
  2. Find the correct rhythms.
  3. Make sure your chord voicings match so that what you’re playing sounds like the song.
  4. Practice until you can’t get it wrong.

Faking your way through an intro can throw your team off and cause them to mess up.

Remember that we practice so that in service we can worship!
